Classified Employee of the Year Program

We are pleased to participate in the Classified Employee of the Year program through the Sacramento County Office of Education and the California Department of Education. This program pays tribute to the tireless efforts of our outstanding classified school employees. They are vital staff members who play key roles in creating an environment that promotes student achievement, safety and health. Twin Rivers Unified School District will select six candidates to represent the district at the county level CEY program in each of the following categories:
 
  • Child Nutrition
  • Maintenance, Operations & Facilities
  • Office & Technical
  • Paraeducator & Instructional Assistance
  • Support Services & Security
  • Transportation

Oct. 1, 2018 Nomination process begins throughout the district. Sites establish Classified Employee of the Year selection process to identify a classified employee who best meets the selection criteria. 
Oct. 26, 2018 Nomination forms are due to principals/supervisors.
Nov. 9, 2018 Site selections (via Google Form) made by principals/supervisors are due. 
Dec. 14, 2018 If Classified Employee of the Year is participating in the district process, three letters of recommendation (one must be completed by principal/supervisor) are due to communications@twinriversusd.org
May 6, 2019 Classified Employees of the Year will be recognized at an employee recognition dinner.

Who may be nominated for Classified Employee of the Year?
Twin Rivers follows state and county guidelines in the selection process:

  • Nominee must be a current employee in a California public preschool through 12th grade including charter schools, school districts and county offices of education.
 
Employees in substitute or temporary positions are ineligible to be a District Classified Employee of the Year. Also, TRUSD Adult Education may choose a Classified Employee of the Year; however, he/she is not eligible for county or state level participation.
 
  • Nominee must be a rank-and-file employee, not in a management or supervisory position.
  • Nominee must have a minimum of five years of service in nomination category, with no minimum full-time equivalent.
 
Sites may choose an employee with fewer years of service; however, he/she will not be eligible to participate at the district or county level.
 
 Who can submit a nomination for Classified Employee of the Year?
Any person (teacher, colleague, parent, student, district employee or community member) may submit a nomination. Self-nominations will also be accepted.
 
Who selects the District Classified Employee of the Year?
Our district interview panels are comprised of district employees. They will select one Classified Employee of the Year for each of the six categories.
 
What does it mean to be a Classified Employee of the Year?
Six Classified Employees of the Year represent Twin Rivers in the annual Sacramento County Classified Employee of the Year program (including nomination recommendation and interview process) and are recognized in the fall at a reception during a school board meeting.
