Twin Rivers

Twin Rivers USD currently provides quality after school programming to more than 2,800 students in 34 schools. The Expanded Learning Programs serve eligible students in kindergarten and grades one through nine, inclusive, at participating public and charter schools. (EC § 8482.3(a).)

 

Expanded Learning Programs provide an opportunity to merge school reform strategies with community resources. The goal is to support local efforts to improve assistance to students and broaden the base of support for education in a safe, constructive environment.

Our Expanded Learning programs involve collaboration among parents, youth, representatives from schools and governmental agencies, such as local law enforcement and local parks and recreation departments, and individuals from community-based organizations and the private sector. Programs are created through partnerships between schools and local community resources to provide literacy, academic enrichment, and safe, constructive alternatives for students in grades K-8.

Arcade Creek Recreation and Park District
The district offers recreational programs at the at various community locations.  The Oakdale Park site houses a gymnasium with a stage and kitchen and a community room where we operate an ASES after school program for Oakdale Elementary School children in coordination with the Twin Rivers Unified School District. The district also co-sponsors programs with neighboring recreation agencies.

Boys & Girls Club of Greater Sacramento
For more than 100 years Boys & Girls Clubs have been serving children across America. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento proudly brings the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) tradition to the Sacramento area, contributing to the growth and positive development of the children at Madison Elementary.

Center for Fathers and Families
Founded in 1994, the Center for Fathers and Families' mission is to strengthen families and build communities in the Greater Sacramento region by offering a network of programs & services that lead to family growth, enrichment, and empowerment. MASTERS (Making After School Time Enriching, Rewarding, and Successful) currently serves over 1,200 elementary and middle school youth at 12 school sites.

North Highlands Recreation & Park District
NHRPD's mission is to help enrich and fulfill the lives of the citizens through the provision of facilities and programs that will provide and enhance creative, wholesome and imaginative leisure time living patterns with emphasis on family and youth oriented programs. The Raccoon Club at Ridgepoint Elementary is a structured after school program for children in grades K through 6.

Roberts Family Development Center
The RFDC program is based on the "Better Than Average" after school program, which encompasses academic assistance, enrichment and recreation. The after school program's mission is to provide a safe, interactive learning environment for participating students at MLK Jr. Technology Academy.

Sacramento Chinese Community Service Center
The Center was founded in 1978 to aid those newly arrived Chinese immigrants in dealing with cultural adaptation. As part of their goal to improve academic achievement, increase enrichment opportunities and family literacy the agency operates more than 15 after-school programs in Sacramento schools, including Foothill Ranch, Foothill Oaks, Noralto, Sierra View and Rio Linda Preparatory, Woodridge and Madison in TRUSD.

YMCA of Superior California
At the YMCA there's time every day for homework and fun. Activities in art, science, literacy and group discussions related to the theme are part of the daily routine. In addition, children have time scheduled for homework, snack and physical activity. The program is available at Kohler Elementary and Morey ECDC.
