Immunizations

All students must comply with California immunization requirements to attend the first day of class, so be sure that your child's school has complete records prior to August 20.

TUPE

The Tobacco Use Prevention Education grant is funded by Proposition 56 and 99 which allocates funds to school districts to provide programs to mitigate and prevent youth tobacco use and potential pathways to other harmful substances such as alcohol, drugs and prescription medication. Twin Rivers Unified School District offers the following programs and services to create a fun and safe learning environment to inspire each student to extraordinary achievement every day:

Teen Intervene – Intervention counseling for students experiencing substance abuse/addiction

Project Alert – A drug prevention curriculum taught to all 7^th and 8^th grade students

Red Ribbon Week – All students participate in school wide activities surrounding drug awareness

Club Live – Middle school student leaders that work with adults to increase drug awareness

Friday Night Live – High school student leaders that work with adults to increase drug awareness

California Healthy Kids Survey – A risky behavior needs assessment for 7^th-12^th grade students

Tobacco Free Generations – A tobacco prevention curriculum for pregnant and parenting teens

Don’t Buy The Lie – Anti tobacco assemblies provided by Kaiser Permanente

VIRTUAL DENTAL PROGRAMTop of Page

The Virtual Dental Program (VDH) comes to 12 TRUSD schools this year, as we partner with The University of Pacific Dental School, Sacramento County and the following dental providers:

Blue Hills Dental (formerly Access Dental)
Sacramento Native American Health Clinics
WellSpace
Health Western Dental Kids

This program will bring dental care directly to students on campus!

For more information and to enroll a student, please request information at the following school offices: Babcock, Castori, Del Paso, Fairbanks, Garden Valley, Hagginwood, Harmon Johnson, Noralto, Northwood, Smythe, Strauch and Woodlake elementary schools.

The program will initially target TK/Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students at the listed schools, and will expand to other grades and more school sites as soon as possible.
